SC FFA Attends State Convention
Several FFA members attended State Convention held in Columbus, Ohio last May. The made the trip to watch several of the members receive their state degree, proficiency awards and special recognition for their achievements. While Logan Moore and Zeb Burton were interviewed for their proficiency awards, the rest of the members toured the Horseshoe football stadium. Then they picked Logan and Zeb up and watched Opening Session and then walked around the career show. That night, the members gathered with other FFA members from across the state to watch Josh Shipp's keynote speech. Zeb placed 3rd in his first proficiency. After a couple rounds of bowling, the members called it a night.
The next morning, the FFA members woke up early. They watched Logan place 2nd in his proficiency and Zeb place 2nd in his other proficiency before going off to have fun at Sky Zone, which is a trampoline park. They then traveled back to the convention center to watch Megan Cornish receive recognition for her gold rating on her secretary's book and for placing first in Dairy Handling. After eating pizza, the members once again met back inside to watch Carrie Lortcher, Rebeka Mikalacki, Amy Gannett, Logan Moore, Collin Warrick and Summer Long walk across the stage and receive their FFA State Degrees.
