GREENWICH - South Central Elementary School Kindergarten student Marco Larios has completed the school's sight word challenge. This program encourages the students to identify by sight 300 additional words beyond the minimum reading requirement for Kindergarten students. This is an impressive accomplishment for any six-year-old, but it is even more so for an English learner from a Spanish-speaking home.

Jennifer Jordan, Larios's classroom teacher, said, "Marco is a great student. He works very hard and always tries to do his best."

Principal Nathan Richards added, "The South Central family is very proud of Marco's accomplishment of completing the sight word challenge. Through his hard work and persistence, he was able to complete this very difficult task."

Richards commends those who have helped Larios along the way, including his parents and teachers. It is a team effort.
