2017 Spring Contest

Spring Contests are here!!


On March 25th, the South Central FFA had five competing groups in Spring Contest, Poultry, General Livestock, Agronomy, Equine, Wildlife and Dairy Handling. The Poultry team judges chicken carcusses, interior and exterior eggs, chicken parts, bone-in and bone-out chicken products and live birds. The team consisted of Rylee Hopkins, Blake Risner, Taylor Sexton, Derek Shaffer and Matt Whiteside. The team placed 28th. The General Livestock team judges different types of animals, including sheep, cattle, pigs and sheep. The team consists of Miles Burton, Brooke Gahring, and Kendall Keene. The Agronomy team judges different types of seeds and classifies them, identify diseases and bugs, and they also do a team event. The team consists of Kaycee Burton, Ally Burton, Andrew Madison, and Grant Seidel. The team placed 17th. The Equine team judge different breeds of horses, identify different types of feed and horse equipment. The team consists of Sierra Chill, Maddison French, Kara Walcher and Tommy Riesing, The team placed 51st. The Wildlife team identifies different types of birds, and wildlife animals. The team consist of Matt O’dell and Desiree Chill, they placed 50th.
