South Central Goes To National Convention

On Tuesday October 28, 2014, 19 members of the South Central FFA embarked on their journey to the 2014 National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY along with three other schools. The students attended three of the convention sessions to watch members from across the country receive awards and participated in numerous activities, such as bowling, throughout the week. They went on many tours such as Louisville Slugger, Schimpf’s Candy in Indiana, The Belle of Louisville, Yoder’s Lumber Yard, Heini’s Cheese Chalet, Weaver Leather Supply and many others. Many FFA members were on the edge of their seats while watching the play Dracula. The members attended an amazing concert held by Easton Corbin and Justin Moore.

South Central FFA Member, Greg Cornish, participated in the Dairy Handling CDE during the convention and placed in the top ten. Congrats!

On the last day of the convention, November 1, American FFA Degrees were handed out. To receive an American FFA Degree requires countless hours of work and dedication. Three former South Central FFA members received their Degrees. These members worked hard to get to where they are now. They are Megan Cornish, Carrie Lortcher, and David Seidel. Congratulations to all of you!

All of the members who attended were able to experience many fun things they otherwise would never do. Everyone had a great time.
