2017 Fair

This year at the Huron County Fair our FFA members placed well with all the different projects that were exhibited. Summer Sweeting placed first in class with both of her goats, she also placed grand lightweight and reserve middleweight. She placed first in class with her feeder, later receiving grand born bred and raised feeder and third overall feeder and placed fourth in class with her steer. Kendall Keene placed first with both goats, and won reserve heavy weight. She also received fourth in class with her dairy feeder, and placed second with her lamb. Brooke Gahring exhibited both boer and dairy goats and participated in the Showman of Showmen competition. She won grand with her dairy goat and placed third in class with her boer goat. Maddie Vogel exhibited hogs placing fourth overall with her carcass hog and placed first in class with her other hogs. Danielle Ott placed second in class with her hogs, goats and feeders. She also placed first in hog showmanship, fifth in goat showmanship and second in beef feeder showmanship. Andrew Madison placed fourth in showmanship with his hogs and fourth in his class. Kaycee Burton received first on her SAE poster. Grant Seidel placed third and fourth with his hogs, 4th in showmanship with his heifer and fourth in his class. Kyser French placed second in class with chickens. Derek Shaffer, Izaiah Lacy, Devin Hess, Emily Walcher, Kaiden Shaffer, Paige Roswell, Philip Madison, Blake Risner, Clayton Hanson, Ally Burton, Madison Fry, Rylee Hopkins, Shelby Ott and Alexis Rowe received A’s on their toolboxes and extension cords. Drake Knoll also got supreme champion dairy cattle. Liam Bacon got reserve jersey heifer and placed third in class with his hogs. Philip also placed second and third with his hogs. Ally placed first in class with her goat and third in showmanship. She also fourth in dairy feeder showmanship. Overall the fair this year was a success for our FFA chapter.
